Life on Two Wheels

I’ve always loved the feeling of freedom that comes from being on a bike—the wind, the rhythm, the simplicity of movement.

Over time, that love turned into a side project: finding old, forgotten bikes and giving them a second life. There’s something deeply satisfying about taking something worn and neglected and making it ride-ready again.

Bicycles are simple, reliable, and built to last. Restoring them keeps them out of the landfill and puts them back where they belong—on the road, bringing joy to someone new.

Second Life Bikes

How it started

A few years ago another parent in my kid’s school asked for some help to fix a bike for a recently arrived Ukrainian refugee. I offered help, and one fixed bike turned into many more.

How it works

We take in and collect unwanted bikes, and give them new life. Whether a minor service or a full overhaul, unwanted bikes are thoroughly checked over, made safe and passed on to someone in need.

Impact

Over the last two years, we’ve sourced and distributed over 75 bicycles to those in need, giving them freedom of mobility. Refugees, victims of theft or vandalism. Anyone with real need.

How you can help

It’s simple really. If you live in Cambridge or surrounding villages and have an unwanted bicycle, get in touch and we’ll give your unwanted bike a new life.

disclaimer: We’re not a registered charity, just someone putting their abilities to good use.
